Ok then I think I feel as though my 10 man Soul Drinker Squad is finished...I will be posting some pictures of them tomorrow as well they are at my office...and well I am at home...stupid stupid stupid... I know...
but onto other stuff...
Space Wolves DOMINATE...let me rephrase that...
The new Space Wolves can DOMINATE ALL WHO THEY GO AGAINST...Necrons, other Space Marines...it was roughly 2 to 1 odds and I still took the flat out win it was epic...
Played 3 games with them over the weekend...First one was an objective game...two grey hunters with a blood claw pack and a predator tank...HQ with some snazy stuff to boot...sat on my home objective with a Grey Hunter Pack inside cover without the rhino (small game could afford rhinos for everyone...haha) and had the blood claws go for the other objective as my last Grey Hunter Pack went for the 3rd objective...Kept my own objective the entire game...took the second objective and contested the 3rd objective in their starting area at the last turn...the blood claws with a Power fist ripped into 2 Space Marine squads and killed 20 tact marines over the course of the game...my second grey hunter squad that went after the other objective took out about 15 marines including a Chaplain and Captain...it was nice I know...
Second game was a 5k game per side...5 on 5 though so each person got 1k worth of points...I had the same list except all squads had a rhino and flamer basic...it was nice...took about 3 hours but with 10 people I think that was pretty quick actually...I lost about 10 men the entire game and seeing that each squad only peaked out at 7 before I added the wolf guard to the packs I think that is pretty good indeed...the counter attack rule is pretty nice compaired to the old 4th edition verson...haha a very useful trick to have indeed...
Third game was on Sunday the next day...had a friend drive down from Stateville first time we ever meet face to face knew him through rough-market and found out he lived about an hour or so from me...had him and his ork boyz come down and he was automatically on my team...
Let me say this...in this 1k game as well 3 on 3 this time... I have never seen so many orks live in a game against heavy bolters...twin linked on top of that...I think he may have lost 20 orks tops out of his entire 1k army...and he only had one vehicle...whole sale slaughter I would say...haha
And of course the Space Wolves ate everything they touched...but because of the saturday game everyone took out my three rhinos before they even got to move...it was ok I had my razorback with Long Fangs surive the entire game before being hit with anything and they took out every bit of armour that came within firing range...and the Heavy Bolters in the pack took out just chunks of infantry which was great considering it was 1 cron player and 2 sm players we were up against...haha
My Handheld Heavy Bolters that my Long Fangs were using were doing a better job then the other SM guys Twin-Linked Heavy Bolters were doing against the orks...haha
Goes to show that my Space Wolves are truely a force to be reconded with...at this rate I wont be able to play them anymore like my Chaos List with the Icon of Khorne...haha

The Wolfin time...
It is kinda like Pimpin Time...but only for Space Wolves...haha
Oh common we all know that the New codex is out in the begining of October...and we all know that some Imperial Guard player won the Ard Boyz contest without breaking a sweat...but today is something even better...
For me anyway...
I have in my hand a copy of the Space Wolves Codex...and oh my Bejesus himself...it is truely a great sight...I can have a Long Fangs Squad with Heavy Bolters and Multi-Meltas at around 125 for a squad...throw on a Razorback for 40 points...add even more fire power to the squad...and yes I was right a while back...I do not get to max out my Long Fang squad to 10 like the Devastator Squads in the Space Marine codex...so instead of 5 extra bolters I get an extra heavy weapon...haha I think that is a more then fair trade...and if I loose a guy I would want to take out the Heavy Weapons first so I can divide my firing onto multiple targets because of the Sergeant in the squad...also...Heavy Bolters are 5 points a piece...I KNOW RIGHT...5 Heavy Bolters for 25 points...that is a lot of shots...haha
Wolf Guard Squads...they are not an Independent Character like the Battle Leader and such...(by the way we get the Wolf Lord and then the Wolf Leader just like the last codex) but max out the weapons and take them out of the squad to put with another squad as a sergeant...neat I know...
There is no Russ tanks unfortantly...nor is there a Thunderfire Cannon...or Servo Harnesses for the Iron Wolf Priest...which I think is wierd on that last part..but hey atleast those weapon destroyed will come back on a roll of 5+ and you get to a 1 for each Thrall w/Servo Arm as well...got two Thralls...roll a 3 or better and that Twin-Linked Assault Cannon is back in business...haha
Grey Hunters are exactly as you have all heard...15 points a piece...but only one Power Weapon/Fist...no two per squad...le sigh...and also only one Plamsa Pistol...but hey they made up for the only one power weapon with the Mark of the Wulfen on one man in the squad...that will help...haha...that and if it is a 10 man squad we get two flamers for free...haha
Blood Claws...nice little +2 on the charge for attacks with the Basic Bolt Pistol, CCW included...throw on the Trickseter...and poof...neat little squad of doom and destruction...haha
the Lone Wolves are really cool...I like that idea a lot...start out cheap as heck with their stat line and go up from there...but the points will sink into him real quick...basic Lone Wolf with Terminator Armour and lets just say Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield w/ 2 wolves...you will break 100 points easy...
I really don't see a lot of people using a jump pack squad with the blood claws at the helm...unless they just want to have death from above...haha...yes the Storm Claws get the +2 on the charge just like the Blood Claws...wait...they are Blood Claws...with Jump Packs...HEY WAIT A SECOND...that is the same as the last codex...haha
Honestly...I expect Games Workshop to have a second wave of Space Wolves...of just wolves...haha...Thunderwolf Calvary...Cyberwolves...Wolf Packs...Packs of Wolves...wolves on crack...crack on wolves...so on and so forth...hahaI think the only people that cannot get a wolf or two per squad from the base points are the Grey Hunters and Blood Claws...haha

Book Review TIME...
HAHA...I know right...
Ok First one off the list...Salamanders
First Main whole story book all to itself concerning the Salamanders Chapter mainly a Company who's Captain was killed not but a few months before hand from a Multi-Melta at point blank...I don't even think a 3+ save would work like that...haha
But luckly his Second took over...Even over the protest of a few of the Sergeants and quickly became the man to lead the Company to future endenvours of greatness...only for the last 20 pages or so get killed by one of his own men...REALLY...COMMON MAN...I mean yes Nick Kyme *the Aurthor* did a great job...I mena you even knew that this guy was going to do something like that...even explained how he was able to get by the Chaplains...this guy was sick...and was a loyalist marine to boot...and I use loyalist to the extreme right...haha
But I won't spoil it for you guys as the book has only been out for a few months so far...and not everyone has had a chance to read it...so that is all I will tell you concerning that book...
I just look forward to the second book in the series...

Honestly...I want a second book with these main characters again...Yes I know the book has been out for ages now...but I was re-reading it after the Salamander book this weekend...*which is actually the 3rd time for the Salamander Book...*
The way he goes around as one of the Heresy Marines...from 10,000 years ago...it just brilant...I have never read any books with people that make it that far into the future...yes the Games Workshop people hint that you can come out x amount of years into the future...but the furthest one I have ever seen was that Assassin who came out what 600-1000 years after they were sent off...not 10,000 years...haha...I mean this guy knew his Primarch...knew the Emperor himself...saw worlds broughts into the fold that was the growing Imperium...It is understandable that he would go after the one artifact of his Primarch...
When he finally meets up with his own Legion it is of one of the other warbands...who went he route of pure chaos...after a knock down fight between the two out main anti-hero character here takes off to find his own warband...
Honestly...I want to see if he ever found them and if they were still the legion men that he left 10,000 years ago...and would they accept him back into the fold as their commander at all...
That book was great...honestly it was...I just think that a book like that deserves more then one title...I mean the Ultramarines are coming up on the 6th novel...Space Wolves have already his 6...I mean really...give the Anti-Hero some love here...

Stormtroopers...
Now I have finished up the final touches of my two squads of Storm Troopers...two completely different color scheme's too...just to make it so you know that they are working for the Inquisition...haha
Took three of my Deathwatch Veterans with Power Weapons for the Inquisitor and two Acyolates...I have to relook at the prices but those power weapons on the Acyolates may just be a CCW...haha...as power armour is 10 pts...nice I know...haha
So my New Inquisitor will be one with Power Armour, Power Weapon, Rosarius, Plasma Pistol, Psyhic Hood, Psycannon Ammo(that no invulv save bullets with an AP4...)
Thrown on the Two Acyolates w/Power Armour for allocating wounds...maybe a mancatcher...just for giggles...
Two extra Sages on top of this to give my Inquisitor lord a BS of 6 now...on top of allowing me to re-roll that Plasma Pistol if needed...haha
and then two Veteran Guards men making his WS a 6 as well...give them a hellpistol or something along those lines with a CCW to boot...7 man squad is not bad...
Add that to the two full 10 man squads of Stormtroopers w/Flamer, and Grenade Launcher...and the Sarge has a Power Weapon and Bolt Pistol they come out to about 146 points or so a squad...give or take...
Nice starting army of what is that about 500 points right there for 17 guys...not that bad I would say...haha
If I wanted to I could throw in some Space Marine squads at 215 a peice that comes with a Flamer, HB, MM or ML, Rhino and Power Weapon...haha....Two of those would be 430 on top of them that is 4 squads and an HQ under 1k...I can barely do that with SM as it is right now...haha
But in this list I would have an
Inquisitor lord with WS6/BS6/S3/T3/W5(allocated)/I5/A3/Ld10/S 3+/4+ which is not that bad at all...

I have been thinking...
and because of that I got a nasty headache...haha
but no seriosuly here...I have been re-reading for the umpteith time the Soul Drinkers books and so on and so forth...and I was thinking...what I have right now...if what they had whenever the Imperial Fist came and took them off the planet...the only difference is I have 4 Chaplains and three Techmarines but only one Librarian...haha...those numbers seem wrong...
But no worries I say...
I have actually already painted up a 10 man squad with a flamer for the first squad of Soul Drinkers the Sergeant only has the basic Chainsword, Bolter combo but the next set I am thinking of having a power weapon or so...
I mean don't get me wrong I love my Blood Angels list...The Sons of Baal...the Salamaders are cool but not for me...So I will just transfer those draws, wins to the Ultra Templar ratio...and change their names to The Soul Drinkers...

First off
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHACK HACkhack...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...ok I will stop but none the less 15 point Grey Hunters and 15 point Blood Claws...ok so the Claws went up a point the GH guys stay about the same but now I don't have to pay for my Bolters and Grenades...sweetness...
I have not seen any Dreadnoughts being HQ units for this codex and honestly I will miss that a lot...I enjoyed having a Dread in my 500 point SW games...it was fun...
Having a truck load of Leaders will help us destroy everyone that much quicker and I for one completely understand why GW did what they did with the Packs, and Leaders and so on and so forth...I do honestly want a cheap Ven Dread as an HQ if not...no worries...haha
But anyone who reads the Space Wolves Novels the codex that everyone has been reading about and screaming cheese...Honestly...go read the Novels...almost word for word how the codex should be...
Ohh no a force of Terminators as troops...Sorry Dark Angels you don't have that trick anymore...BULL I SAY...I still get that trick plus a bit cheaper...you can swap out for a TH/SS or TLC for free I would have to pay for my Claws...
Blood Claws apparently are just scouts in Power Armour...OH WAIT THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE IN THE BOOKS...except they are not ones that go out to scout they are the ones that get thrown into the guns to kill as much as they can until they learn to control their wulfen inside them...
Long Fangs are SOOO BROKEN you say...SO let me get their straight...I get 5 weapons to your 4 weapons...ok then...more then likely I won't be able to field 10 men in my Long Fang pack where your Devastator squads can field 5 more guys with bolters to take the wounds...even if I can field the other 4 guys with bolters...their range is 24...not 36-600000...haha so they wont be adding a whole lot but bodies like...WAIT YOUR DEVASTATOR SQUADS DO...
Wolf Packs as a troop choice...OHHH NO WHAT SHALL I EVER DO...uh it is called rapid fire for a reason...more then likely a single wound unit with a 5+ save of some sort if they are lucky and are there just to clog your fire lanes as the rest of my guys get up there...
Single men fighters...with MASTERCRAFTED MELTABOMBS...MUHAHAHAHAHA...with their 3+ armour save...all by themselves...standing there...in the open...*cough*RAPID FIRE AGAIN*cough*....
GAWD I AM SO TIRED...you people yell cheese without even seeing the codex first...WOW THIS UNIT CAN DO THIS...they fire laser beams out their ears and their eyes stare you down until that unit takes their own lives and their bolters are crafted on the forge world of mars itself and have a 48 inch range that has a strenght 7 ap2 and assault 23994...OH MY GAWD...

After recovering from my apoplectic fit (LOL!) and remembering how to breathe again, it dawned on me that mayhap mkerr the elder chose not to share some details about this new power. Perhaps there's some kind of special test, or save...oh YEAH, there's an INITIATIVE TEST. That'll save ya!
Congratulations, Games Workshop. You've outdone yourselves! You couldn't just take the new C:SW by the power-whorehouse for enough "sessions" to make an entire codex rant-worthy (comical or otherwise).
Oh, NO, that's what we expected.
Instead, you made your opening bid a single psychic power so jacked that it was rant-worthy by itself!
It's really a shame, too, because I was thinking maybe, just maybe GW had gotten a better hold on the whole "game balance" thing and while I expected the new SW book to be very competent, close-combat-wise -- and definitely a "step up", power-wise from the old SW 'dex...I certainly wasn't expecting the steaming pile of wolf turds that this power represents -- unless there are mitigating rules/circumstances/things we don't know about yet that makes even using this power in some way risky to the Rune Priest and/or there is some kind of "save" other than a woefully-ridiculous initiative test.
Now, one thing: notice I didn't say SW players shouldn't take this power. If it's in your book, take it. However, I may very well begin carrying a 2-foot-long crowbar with me to game so that I'll have my own little "24 inch line" that makes things disappear (or collapse in a heap of bruises and pain, which is just as effective) for those special moments when your 200+ point squad gets eaten by an invisible wolf. :)
Smoke 'em if ya got 'em, folks. Inquisitor Lords with the old-school unlimited range psychic hood are now pretty much mandatory unless you enjoy the feeling of wolf johnson in your backside. Actually, a tooled-up Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor Lord with all those nifty "make the enemy psyker go away" powers/wargear...hmm...

Real quick word though
you only loose the guy(s) if they fail a leadership test...
lets say they are LD8... hits three guys... roll my 2D6 three times and poof each time has a 66% chance of passing said test...which is also about the chances of the SM armour saves of 3+...
So while everyone is getting all it is broken...it is PURE CHEESE...think about it for a second...and remember...I might hit three guys and if I am lucky...I can take out one of them...oh no the guy hit the serge with a power weapon...well then negate the wound to the guy with a bolter...
Think about it before everyone complains...haha...
It may look cool on paper and I see a lot of people using I won't lie I will use it myself in games where I can aford the Rune Prist himself...but for the most part...just stay far enough away and treat like the lash it is...

Gawd...I Love Fridays
Same ol saying but none the less so true...
I truely enjoy my monday-friday job...40 hour week...allows me to get a second job for the weekends if I need it or spend time with friends and family (namely my daughter every other weekend...haha) even get a few 40k games in when possible
but like always I leave you with a picture to get you through your weekends...in case you do not have a job like mine and you do not have a set schedule...been there...many a times...haha
So here we go...Kate...well you know her anyway..why keep spelling...haha

Holy Bejesus Himself...
I am sooo looking forward to the new Space Wolves Codex...I have a 3k Space Wolf army on its way right now...but that is under the old codex rules and point system...I am thinking Grey Hunters to the extreme maybe Ragnar with a few packs of Blood Claws and Long Fangs out the ying-yang...
Honestly...did a mess around game the other day...4 man Long Fang squad...two Heavy Bolters, one Multi-Melta and the Sergeant with a Flamer...my brother played a Chaplain with a jump pack and plasma pistol and a Veteran Assault Marine with Power Weapon and Bolt Pistol came to be almost the same amount of points...I fired everything I had at that Assault Marines...except the Multi-Melta...fired that at the Chaplain...he made every save he could...that was 6 Heavy Bolter shots per firing round...I just laughed because right before he was in assault range...he failed a single armour save and the Assault Marine died...it was great...by then the Chaplain was there but he got ate up by the Flamer from the Sergeant...
I just found that funny as heck...But they firing at two choices is a great thing for the Long Fangs...and if you give him a Flamer he can only reach 8 or so inches out so he won't be able to fire unless they are in assault range anyway...haha and by then everything would be fired at that squad anyway...
Also I was reading over a number of Blogs concerning the new Space Wolf codex...seems a number of people have already seen it and everything...haha
