Sarpdon just need a new coat...

HAHA...well as I was up till 530 this morning...and could not sleep I finished up Sarpdon's Conversion...only a 7 legged freak...but his bionic leg is the only thing missing...Gave him an Axe and a Bolter...Bolt Pistol on his side if needed..Helmet on the other side under his bolter arm...

Well none the less two quick shots from my Camera Phone...one from the Front and another from the top side to see the base underneath him...and no he is not glued on yet...


Sarpdon Conversion

Ok I had the idea when the Soul Drinkers first Omnibus came out and ripped through it like a hot knife threw butter...but at the time I was happy camper and newly married and had no time for conversions...much less paint any of the models I had glued together at 2am in the morning as my 1 yr old daughter slept...

Fast forward to a few months ago I was reading a blog I go to every now and then and low and behold the man was making a Sarpdon conversion...similar to what I was thinking...only better...haha...

But hey that does not mean no one else can make a conversion of their own...using a similar technique as the other guy I went about doing my own...

Using a Nids body...one of the smaller gaunts I think I cut off some arms from another two and glued them to the body...cut off the head and neck...For the Torso I used a Company Champions Body as well as a helmet less head...as Sarpdon throughout the books would always lead without his helmet on unless the situation demanded it. So I glued on a helmet that I will paint up for if he needs to use it...haha

Quick updates and what not...

First off...what is it...23 days till Christmas...thankfully I had started Christmas shopping for my daughter in August...so I have about half a dozen presents for her...which is a good thing as I have not been able to go back to the office...which sucks as a giant paycheck would be perfect...le sigh on the lack of job...But thankfully I have unemployement which helps pay the bills...

But I have gotten back my Land Raider Crusader...and man am I loving that thing...move 12 inches...fire both Hurrican Bolters and either the multi-melta or assault cannon...but not both of them...or move 6 inches and fire every weapon I have on that thing at two targets...it is great...throw in some assault terminators with a Chaplain and let the power weapons roll...haha

Also on a side note...Some of you may have relized I have a truck load of other 40k Blogs on the right side of my own blog here...if you have one that is not on this list...email me at jokerjr101@yahoo.com with some sort of title in the message about this blog so I won't mark it as spam...and I will be more then happy to add you to the ever growing list...I may be a small blog but every window helps...haha

Last thing

Got in two games last night...both 2k games each...

First one was my Soul Drinkers vs Black Templar...halfway through turn one I relized...holy shit this is a battle of two second foundings of the Imperial Fist right here...I then pointed that out and Steven said...well heck man I am going to be doing a Crimson Fist army soon and the other guy is going to be doing an Imperial Fist army...I said heck yeah...and we got back to the game...

ended up being a tie...would have lost a lot more had the Heibrich and his 10-14 man squad gotten out of their Crusader and ripped into my Soul Drinkers...haha

Second one was against the same guy but we switched armies...He went with his orks and I went with Space Wolves...lets just say the Wolf Scouts with Sniper Rifles paid for themselves as well as Bjorn and the other Venerable Dreadnought...but there was one Mad Doc...and that SOB would not die...his entire squad died...but then would not die himself...then to add insult to injury he joined another squad...luckly he ran out of turns and KP I won 12-6...silly orks thinking they could kill Wolves...haha

I will try to get some pictures of the Crusader later this week and the four rhinos for my Soul Drinkers but now that I have them painted I have a reason to paint up the rest of Soul Drinker army and start on that conversion of the Spider Commander Man guy...thingy...haha...Sharpdon that is it...haha

Gawd...I Love Friday...

I relized something...and I acted...

HAHA...really I did...

I had noticed that my Iron Warriors when I play them against my other Loyalist army versons (Sons of Baal, Soul Drinkers, and Ultra Templar) they come out on top...and I think that is awesome...of course I play the Iron Warriors and my brother ends up playing my armies as his has not yet arrived via a trade from Rogue Market...ehh no worries though...

sooo...In rememberence of this awesome act of wanton destruction and violence...haha

I bring you Warsmith Savarese...hehe he has the same last name as me...I wonder if we are related...haha

Had an Idea...

I think I have made a point about this but you know what I got some time to think as I drive down the road not really paying attention to anything in particular...

I relized a 2k list of the 10th company would actually do some real damage

Fluff wise too...

Think about it for a second...

6 - ten man squads of scouts...maxed out 3 with 10 snipers and the other 3 as assault scouts...I think my math came out to be about 850 points...and that I think includes Telion model a power fist in two of those assault squads and Heavy Bolters with Hellfire rounds in the sniper squads...base of 6 troop choices or up to 12 choices...you can barely do that in a 2k game with regular Space Marines...in a 2k game with scouts you still have another 1000 points for DOOOM...haha

OK THEN to the list of awesomeness...fluff wise too...

There would be no terminators...or sternguards...take that out of your mind first off...about the only people in power armour will be the HQ and his guys...but hey if we have the points we can work it in somewhere...haha

HQ:
Captain w/Relic Blade, Storm Shield, Artificer Armour, Grenade Launcher...175 pts

...and yes this is legal as the Relic Blade is not a two handed weapon per-say and you already loose the extra attack in close combat from the SS...thus no harm no foul...the grenade launcher allows him a shot in the shooting phase if he needs it...

Scout squads 4-6 will combat squad out into buildings and ruins for the 3+ cover save...having 6 squads that pin per turn will stop many things...the Whirlwinds and Thunderfire Cannon will take out any hordes and armour as possible...the Captain and his squad will probably run with the Assault Scouts...

But that is 60 scouts right there...haha...and that is the marine horde army...fires like a Imperial Guard army but hits like a Marine Army...haha...now if only I could get them Chimeras...haha
